The biggest new feature for the 2011 LINCOLN MKZ is the implementation of parent company Ford's highly praised hybrid drivetrain. The system utilizes a 2.5L Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine and twin electric motors to produce a combined 191 horsepower. Connecting it to the front wheels is an advanced continuously variable transmission. All LINCOLN MKZ models come with leather 10-way power heated and cooled seats, a rear parking assist system, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls and heated mirrors. Lincoln's innovative SYNC voice-activated communications and entertainment system is standard as well, so is satellite radio and dual-zone climate control.
Lincoln's Personal Safety System is standard, and includes anti-lock brakes, a full array of airbags, AdvanceTrac traction control and automatic headlights. Lincoln's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert (CTA), a system that utilizes sensors to warn the driver of hidden traffic dangers, is optional, as is a rear-view camera.
Options for 2011 include a voice-activated navigation system, adaptive HID headlamps, a moonroof and a THX 5.1 audio system. A Sport Appearance Package that includes sport-tuned suspension, aluminum trim and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels is a $1,300 add-on. The Executive package, adds luxury items that include upgraded leather seating, interior wood trim and premium floor mats trimmed in suede.
